GRU Unit 29155 officers charged over WhisperGate

The FBI lists five Russian military intelligence officers and one civilian as wanted for alleged computer intrusion between December 2020 and August 2024. US federal arrest warrants were issued in Maryland on 7 August 2024 for conspiracy to commit computer intrusion and damage, and wire fraud conspiracy. The State Department’s Rewards for Justice program offers up to $10 million for information on their location.

Claimed, disputed or not established
The notice alleges they acted for GRU Unit 29155, used WhisperGate malware against Ukrainian government systems, and targeted critical infrastructure in dozens of Western allied countries. These are allegations; the notice lists them as wanted, and the sources opened report no trial.
