Operation Fox Hunt: convictions in Brooklyn

On 20 June 2023 a federal jury in Brooklyn convicted three defendants of acting or conspiring to act in the US as illegal agents of the PRC. The Justice Department said they were the first defendants convicted after a US trial in connection with the PRC’s repatriation programme “Operation Fox Hunt”. Michael McMahon, a retired NYPD sergeant, was convicted of acting as an illegal agent.
