In September 2024 thousands of pagers and radios used by people associated with Hezbollah exploded in Lebanon. The Times of Israel reported the two days of attacks killed 39 people and wounded more than 3,400. On 11 November 2024 Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office confirmed Israel was behind the pager attacks.

The confirmation is reported by the Times of Israel. UN human rights chief Volker Türk said the attacks violated international human rights law and appeared to violate humanitarian law; UN experts called them a “terrifying violation of international law”.
